review 1: So this book ends up being a typical second book in a trilogy. 512 pages leading to a cliffhanger where every sympathetic character is in dire peril and every villain is triumphant. I hate books like this! Authors! Please stop writing this way! I do not need to waste a month and a half of my life slogging through one bad situation after another, just to be left hanging. Well written? Yes! OVER written? Absolutely. I felt lke this book would never end. Haven't read the third in the series yet. It's on my shelf and it may be a while til I get to it simply because I'm hesitant to plunge into this tale for another 500 pages. Too long, Miss Holloway. Way too long! You could have told this story in one book.
review 2: This book was pretty good. Not as
... more good as the first book but still pretty good. It was just as long which is too long. Parts seemed to drag on and on, part of me just wished that the author would get to the point. At least there was no love triangle in this book. That was really annoying and made me dislike Evelina. I am excited to find out what happens next and how everything gets wrapped up. less

Excellent book; I would have liked to see Evelina stay more herself, instead of swooning ovre a man!

Just couldn't get through it, too dark for my taste, I skimmed it and skipped on to the third book.
