review 1: Pete the Cat joins my children's Christmas book collection. Groovy;)I love the little song that runs throughout the book which goes, "Give it your all, give it your all. At Christmas we give, so give it your all." I love the free downloads on the harpercollins website where you can hear the story narrated and the song sung. I will have fun reading and now singing the song with the correct tune.(kind of, because it is still me singing after all;)
review 2: I laughed my way through this book. Everyone has a blast, I guess except for Santa who has a cold and calls Pete the Cat to help him out with Xmas Eve. Of course Pete the Cat says yes and he and the reindeers and err, a rather untraditional but hilarious vehicle go on their way to get the job done. I loved th... moree salute to Dr. Seuss when Pete the Cat declares that he'll carry out the job even though he's small. It would definitely be one of my go to books for Christmas story time. Happy, good, sweet and not sappy at all: what a great combo in the often sickeningly sweet holiday titles. less
