review 1: So, this was fun to read, as long as I ignored the fact that it was geared towards male geeks, and appeared to suppose a heteronormative reality. It had a disclaimer about one of those two things. The illustrations are gorgeous. The book itself is aesthetically pleasing. I'd say about 80% of the references went over my head. There weren't many times when it supposed a negative stereotype to be true- it wasn't condescending- and it was well-written. In terms of the advice? Most of it was good, I think. I'm just not sure which part.If anything, it was a little too short. I would have liked more details on "What sort of geek are you?", more archetypes, possibly examples of those archetypes in popular culture. More details on actually asking someone out. More of the beautiful ar... moretwork. And, possibly, filing bookworm geek under popular culture and not academia. But those are small things. It was fun. That's really all that matters.
review 2: I'll tell you the truth. I bought it because of the illustrations. The book is GORGEOUS! I don't usually read self-help books but I tell you; this books is as helpful as it is beautiful. I don't have a problem with whether this book was written for men geeks or women. I don't think it matters. It has some good tips for everyone wanting some help with relationships in general. Loved every bit of it.I bought the last copy in my city! You can't imagine my jubilance! less

Very funny satire of the dating self help series with plenty of witty geek humour.
