review 1: Oh. My. God. This book. It is now in my top 10 favorite books of all time. Possibly top 5. That’s how awesome it is. Seriously, this needs to be on the top of your TBR NOW!It’s different. It’s hot. It’s sweet. It’s everything you want in a book but done so much better. This is my first Erika Ashby book and now I’m off to read the rest of them. That’s how much in love with her and her writing I am now.First you have Lucy. Lucy is awesome. She is trying not to be her mother. Trying to be the complete opposite in her life choices. And that has made her a bit of a prude. Until she meets Brent. And until she gets an assignment that changes her life. Living with and interviewing Brent, the porn star coming out of retirement. Brent brings something out in Lucy that ... moreshe pushed down so much.I have to say I love the way this book is written. It’s Lucy telling her story. Literally telling her story in an interview. It goes back and forth between the present and the past. And it’s the perfect way for it to happen. And what happens in the end, her becoming Lotus Raine, I never expected. Which you would think is odd with what the title of the book is. But I truly didn’t think what happened, was going to happen.This is the top book of the summer for me. It’s a must read.~Katie
review 2: Lucy Rogers is sent on assignment to spend a week interviewing porn star "Cruz Storm" before he comes out of retirement. What she doesn't know beforehand is that Cruz is someone she had already met. Lucy knew Cruz as "Brent". Brent sought Lucy out. She had seen him around the office and she had had a sexual encounter with him in a public restroom at a night club. That encounter was something she had never experienced and she was so afraid of what he might think of her. Her assignment was to just be in the background and see what his daily activities consisted of. She was also provided a list of questions and the DVDs of his porno movies. After about three days she finally asked the questions that were given to her and watched the DVDs. Her assignment had been completed! They could put their emotions in fifth gear now. He helped her experience things she never thought she could. Jealousy became involved on both sides. When it came time for Brent to film his first porno he couldn't do it without Lucy, later known as "Lotus Raine". They had both discovered that sex means nothing, even if money is involved, if there are no feelings there. This book is great if you can overlook all the grammatical errors. It can get sort of confusing during the story telling as to what is going on. Whether it be during Lotus Raine's interview or her telling what is happening at the moment. All and all this book is definitely different from what you would expect by the title. less
