review 2: I finally finished it. I actually think it was well-written and the author is very smart. His language is very appealing and somehow funny and spicy to readers, very reminiscent of Bob Ong, a writer I really liked reading, especially his very early works. This is easy to read and the language is plain and accessible. His thoughts, opinions and experiences are all very interesting to read and they are told in such an appealing way. He also offers very interesting ideas about our culture, politics and other aspects of life in general. However, I kinda got bored in the middle. I don;t know why, I kinda skimmed only on some parts, basically just trying to find a funny part. There are lots of it, mind you but then I really felt I just need to finish this book for the sake of finishing it. I liked the authors' style but I guess, I would love his other works. This is too autobiographical for me I guess and there were many things I wasn't able to relate to but then, it is a fun read all in all. I gave it three stars only because of the slight but not very bad boredom I felt will trying to finish it. less
