review 1: What I like about this odd little book is learning how various aspects of the novels relate to experiences in Larsson's life. I find myself steaming about the unfairness of Sweden's inheritance laws, and disappointed that Sweden is not the forward-thinking country I thought it was, until this trilogy came along. Above all, most of his life Larsson was told he could not write--I'm glad he had the final word on that.
review 2: I enjoyed, was fascinated and saddened to read about the life of Stieg Larsson as written by his partner of 32 years, Eva Gabrielsson. To learn what an amazing champion he was for women and victims was inspiring. Although my 12 year son has not read any of Larsson's writing, he did listen to the audio version of the book with me while dri
... moreving out of state. He too was positively impacted by hearing of Stieg's inspiring work and wants to now read some of his articles prior to reading the Millennium series when he is older. To hear Gabrielsson's heart breaking story of mutual love and indivisible lines of their long term partnership was inspiring. Each of us should be so lucky to experience a loving relationship as was Larsson & Gabrielsson's. And of course, I was saddened to hear how Stieg's biological father and brother treated Stieg's writings and Eva herself. They clearly had a marginal relationship with Stieg at best or they would have not dishonored their son and brother so thoroughly with their actions. The first part of the book is organized by topics such as places, characters and coffee (very charming). This portion of the book is very concise and full of information. Later, Eva begins to share her story through some of her journal entries. While also full of information, some is not so relevant, although does not digress too far. I highly recommend the audio version of this book, as the narrator has a lovely voice and accurately portrays the emotions one would expect the writer to feel. I recommend this book to: 1) anyone who is curious about women or victim's rights; 2) a Stieg Larsson fan; 3) a Millennium Trilogy reader or; 4) is in a long term relationship with loved one that is not biological or defined by a legal document! Happy reading! less

Amazing, insightful, and downright infuriating. I hope Ms. Gabrielsson prevails in the end.

Interesting to hear her story but also frustrating. His family should have behaved better.
