review 1: This was an enjoyable piece of chick lit. Asia is a tense work alcoholic dumped by her long time lover and coworker She learns that he had been cheating on her for 6 months and intends to marry the girl friend. Asia gets hooked up with Dexter. He has a business referred to as Rebound Guy. An arrangement to help women that have been dumped. Dexter is wonderful, a handsome "dream" Asia has instant feelings for him much to her regret. She pays him $5000 with the same to come after he attends some pre wedding and wedding functions with her pretending to be new love interest. Eventually they realize they love each other but Asia can't tolerate his business. Things work out for a happy ending.
review 2: 3.5 stars. I thought the story was cute but overdone.... more Girl gets dumped by cheating guy and then finds another guy to make her cheating guy jealous, then falls in love with the other guy. Same old, same old type thing. However, I did like how Dexter brought out the best in Asia. The things he did for her were so sweet, especially after being dumped by her asshole of a ex. I absolutely hated Cortland. I can't believe he had gotten a happy ending to which he did not deserve. I thought the ending was a little bit rushed. I mean first Dex decides Asia isn't worth his job but then the following day he realizes that he can't live without her? I mean that is one big epiphany. I am happy Asia had gotten what he deserves in a man. I wish Dex proposed at least in the epilogue. I was a little bit disappointed with the epilogue though. I wanted to know more about their future together but the tidbit that we did learn was nice. This book wasn't original but it was still a pleasant story. less
