review 1: Really cute!I love my paranormal romances. Even though this walked a line of darkness unlike most love stories. Killian and Colton went through hell together. As time went on i felt that they were truly meant for each other. My expectations were almost not met however. I was engrossed in the story but i wasn't getting what i wanted. When dealing with a species so aggressive, i was impatiently waiting on the unavoidable trip to the dungeon. I guess that makes me slightly twisted but hey to each their own kink. Now looking back i love the fact that i was forced to get to know them before they took that leap. Instead of it being solely about sex it was well into the story when i got a taste of the Killing Frost. ( OAN: i couldn't stop thinking about the queens darkness and ki... morelling frost from the merry gentry series) Separately they were both broken in some kind of way. Whether it was noticeable or not recognized until they were whole and complete.Killian was one who stuck to himself and took only the pleasures he was allowed to. He never let his wolf dictate his actions. Until he had his pretty boy in his bed. Colton stuck to honor like no other. He did everything that was expected of him no matter the cost. Such blind obedience led to the shattering of his soul. It took submitting to his enemy and finding that life may be worth fighting for to put his life back together.
review 2: I liked this book but it just didn't cross over into the love territory. It had an interesting mix of BDSM and paranormal. Unfortunately the world building wasn't very well done by the end I finally just kind of gave up on hoping to get a clear picture of the aspects of the world the characters moved in. There were glimpses of interesting ideas but not a lot to back them up or bring them to life. In the beginning it really frustrated me since a lot of the reasons for Colton and Killian both getting together and dislike are connected to the paranormal stuff.A great deal of book deals with these two in the bedroom and I did enjoy some of the scenes between the two although once again I felt I wasn't connecting everything by not understanding some of the differences between shifters and werewolves. I also got a little tire of the wick, evil, and penises used. A different word choice or just leaving out some of the cheesy dialogue would have been great.By the end I did get more wrapped up into the story as Killian and Colton joined forces. I thought the scene in the attic was very well done. Even though I didn't fully understand what was going on with the pain and thread of black Killian was taking it was filled with emotions and very well done. less

This book was very slow to get going, and the beginning was confusing.
