review 1: Overall a good story, but major parts of the execution bothered me.The story is fairly traditional, with a damsel in distress that gets rescued by the good guy(s) that she falls head over heals in love with only to have her history catching up with her.The worldbuilding is well done and the Aussie touch is nice, but I think I had rather read the same story playing out in Australia. Just because so much of erotica is written to take place in the US.The books shortcoming, in my opinion, comes out in the characters and their interaction. I really don't like how the men stalk and corner Chloe and based on how they treat her, rather than how they say they want to treat her, I have to wonder if she wouldn't have been better off with the bad guy. However if you like overly dominee... morering male characters then this book might just be for you.
review 2: That was really good! Like many, when so many of your favourite writers recommend a book, you get curious. It took a bit before this came up on my TBR, and it was well worth the wait! There is romance, mystery, comedy and some very determined men and women in this fictional town. They all accept each other as they are, and what they want, because that was the basis of the town. Yes, it is one of those towns, fictional and open and accepting and doing well and alive in the minds of us readers!Chloe, Flynn and Noah are all different, and they don't hold to type, they change - so one isn't always the peacemaker, or the hard-ass, or the defender, they all take an active part in those activities throughout the story. That is what kept the story interesting, they kept moving and changing, as real people, and not always fictional characters, so as situations warrantI like this town, and can't wait to see what Mike and Quinn get into with Reagan, or what is the story with Purdy and Caleb, that is what makes these towns so successful, the wide variety of stories there are to tell! less
