review 1: I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.I am always on the lookout for new authors to feed my fix of erotic romance. When I had the opportunity to review Chloe’s Double Draw by Fiona Archer, I jumped at the chance in the hopes that I might have found another author that I can add to my list of go to authors. So imagine how pleased I was that not only did I enjoy this book, but in fact, I loved it!Chloe’s Double Draw had everything I hope for in an erotic romance – a plucky heroine; not one, but two, hunky alpha men; drama and suspense; and of course, hot off the charts BDSM. Chloe is a heroine that I can get behind. While she is submissive in the bedroom, she has no proble... morem standing up for herself. Noah and Flynn are so hot that steam was coming out of my e-reader. Ms. Archer described them so vividly that I swear I could hear their Aussie accents every time they spoke. The bond between the trio was evident on every page. Everything felt authentic and I believed in their connection. I especially liked the discussion Chloe had with Noah about how the relationship would work with three people because these are the same questions I have about a ménage. Chloe’s concerns and Noah’s heartfelt answers added a sense of realism to this fictional work.Ms. Archer was just as masterful at writing the suspense part of the story as she was the romance. The tension built up nicely and while the reader knew who the “bad guy” was, there were still enough twists and turns to keep things intriguing. Oddly enough I found myself rushing through the book. It wasn’t because I wanted to just be done. I rushed through because I just had to know how the whole thing ended, especially the suspense aspect of the story. I consider it a compliment when I read a book fast because that means the author has engaged my attention so much that I am dying to reach the happy conclusion. It’s a boring book that causes me to drag through. So Ms. Archer, my hat is off to you!Chloe’s Double Draw is the first book in the King’s Bluff series and I can’t wait to start the next one. If this first one is anything to go by, I have found a new author and a new series to stalk.
review 2: 5 big sexy stars for the hot Aussies. I'm a real fan of this genre but am fussy with what works for me & this definitely did. I loved Noah & Flynn. The dynamics between the two & contrasts, as well as similarities, in the natures really made for a great friendship. As a reader I was drawn in by the way their characters were written - it's not all about their looks, which are only touched on briefly in my opinion. I loved that. I'm all for the hotness (which they undoubtably are) but it's great to fall for a character based on more than that.Chloe, well I'm not so sure on. I understood her history & wanting to keep her secrets & protect herself but at multiple times in the book I just wanted to reach in & slap her & then happily take her place ;) I definitely wasn't her biggest fan until she finally got her shit together. The story is hot & is well written & I'm such a sucker for boys from Down Under (I am a Kiwi who lives in Oz after all) & loved the cricket ball as a weapon - hilarious. Will definitely read more in this series as well as more from Fiona Archer. Can't wait for Mike, Quinn & Reagan's story less
