review 1: A strange book because I couldn't make up my mind for a long time if I liked it, I kept putting it down. Not a good sign for me as I like to finish a book once I have started. It really seemed like 2 authors had woven the story together, some parts were beautifully written, characters believable, plot exciting and then suddenly it was as if someone else less able had taken over for a while and had written the next part of the book. Not sure I would read it again. Maybe I should have read the earlier books on Morgravia first. I might look at the earlier books just to see if this is the author's normal writing style. Maybe as this was a stand alone book instead of the author's usual sagas it was just edited badly.
review 2: AMAZING!! I was looking at the map
... more of the lands and had a niggling thought in the back of my head that things look rather familiar but could not figure it out until I read the first page and was very excited Fiona was coming back to the land and of course the ever prominent Lyanna!! It has been a few years since I had read 'The Quickening' series but my mind was still able to recall the amazing landscape of those books. This book was brilliant, I really cannot say enough about it. Cannot wait for more fantasy epics! less

A wonderful well-thought out fantasy world and a plethora of good meaty characters. A terrific read!

Wonderful single-volume return to Morgravia, Myrren's world. I wouldn't say no to more :-)
