review 1: I really enjoyed this book. It was funny and light-hearted and serious all at the same time. I loved the main character, 14 year old "nerd" Dan Cereill (pronounced surreal, not cereal he frequently points out) I am a list person, so I could relate to his habit of making lists as his life spins out of control. He has a lot on his plate: his parents divorce, his dad's confession that he's actually gay, the loss of the family business which results in a new school, a new house and no money. ... morean, although I must admit, I was worried there that he was just going to stay that sullen teenager. Yeah, he makes mistakes but he is honest about them and he becomes proactive about his life.
