review 1: I was ridiculously excited when I found this book on a bargain shelf at a local bookstore. Now, I can't help but wish I had overlooked it, skimmed past it and never seen it at all. Buying this book was a huge mistake, and even at $3.97, a complete waste of money. I grew up with Elizabeth and Jessica Wakefield. I spent hours with them growing up, through the Twins, High and University series. I realize that with this book, Pascal was trying to create a more mature version of the Wakefield twins and all those in Sweet Valley. Instead, she viciously brutalized my childhood and showed she never understood her characters to begin with. The main foundation off the book is monstrous and something that doesn't even feel believable. She twists the Wakefield twins and the lives t... morehey' have built into something vile. Pascal butchered my childhood and her characters. I'm truly sorry I picked this book up. I can't fix that error, but I refuse to see this ridiculous book through to its conclusion.
review 2: This was simultaneously the worst and best book I've ever read. Sweet Valley Twins was the first series of books I fell in love with with I was 7 years old. I read Sweet Valley High as well and even watched the horrible television show. This book was a quick trip down memory lane and I really enjoyed it. Finished it about a day. This is obviously not some life changing work of fiction and I don't know why anyone would expect it to be. It was good for what it was meant to be and lots of fun. less
