review 1: One of the best I've read in a while. There are several plots happening and things get tied up in the end, but not by conicidence, but the cleverness of the characters, especially Ace. I was pleasantly surprised that a story that has elements of romance, humor, thrillers, small town character study and even capers could work so well. Ace is a great character, very competent and I loved how him coming to Ferris Bluff actually enriched the lives of a lot of the citizens.
review 2: Ace Evans has worked undercover for the government for most of his life. He and his family are put into the witness protection program. However, Russian agents learn of his identify and murder his wife and children. Ace starts his life on the run trying to avoid the Russians, who kno
... morew he is still living. Ace stops in Ferris Bluff, a small town, to visit a childhood friend of his father's. He learns that the friend is in a nursing home in a coma and something fishy is going on in the nursing home. Harlan Treamont and his wife own the nursing home. They also are trying to get mineral rights to land owned by Ace's childhood friend. Evil is brewing. Read the book to find out how Ace solves the problem and finds peace in his own life in Ferris Bluff. less
