Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews in which book bloggers share their latest bookish acquisition.
Hello! It’s been a while since I last shared my book purchases, but the 38th Manila International Book Fair recently happened and of course a post is in order.
For a person who constantly has lists for practically anything and everything, I have never made one for MIBF. Not on my first year, not this year. But that being said, I was actively on the look out for three specific titles last week. And while two of them I failed to snag a copy of, I’m still very happy with what I did get to take home. Let’s do the run down:
Wonder Woman: Warbringer by Leigh Bardugo
Because DUH.
Two Boys Kissing by David Levithan
I mean. It’s David Levithan and it’s Rainbow Rowell-approved. (Side note: I would’ve been afraid, ashamed even, to own this novel once.)
Goodbye Days by Jeff Zentner
I am not I think I am ready for another Zentner.
When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon
About damn time.
Colliding with Fate by Kim Villanueva
#localauthorlove! Plus Kim is one of my best friends, so. Am I cool yet?
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
You can’t tell from the photo but THIS COVER YOU GUYS. I had to own it.
A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness
Because I want to make Tam-Tam proud (hey buddy!). But also? It costs less than $4. Score!
Openly Straight by Bill Konigsberg
Gimme all the gay YA! Please and thank you.
Boy, Snow, Bird by Helen Oyeyemi
One of the books I’m definitely thrilled to pick up and the only title I didn’t buy. It was gifted to me by my infinitely generous and lovely Tita Suzette.
Let’s talk! Have you read any of these? Is there a particular novel you think I should pick up ASAP? And fellow Filipino bookworms! How was your #MIBF2017 experience? I want to hear about your hauls!
