review 1: I was thrilled to see that Kael and Angel have another story. I know the Daddy/boy scenario is not for every reader, but this author does a fabulous job with the characters' relationship. Kael was not always easy to like in the first book, but his love and caring for Angel is evident and is also what makes him redeemable. As book 2 progresses, Kael's influence on Angel is evident; however, it is also obvious that Angel brings out Kael's humanity, something with which Kael is not quite comfortable. I was happy to see his character evolve.I'd love to see a third book in this series.
review 2: 3.5 starsI liked this better than the first one but I just can't wrap my head around this series... I think it tries too hard to be edgy or something. I did like that A... morengel was less bratty here. We also get a better feel for Kael and why this works for him as well. I will definitely read the next in the series because Angel is obviously going to become an assassin (like his daddy). I liked the introduction of Mattie and I hope she’s in the next book as well. less
