review 1: Again, picked up the first due to the TV show - nothing like it. If you want ABC's 666 Park, don't get this book. If you want chick lit, borrow this from your library. I checked this out at the same time as I checked out 666 Park Avenue. Went ahead and read this since it was there. It's really dragging; author keeps opening up new mysteries without really closing up anything; main character is either a slut or a confident woman (depending on what your personal opinion is; personally even if your husband has been doing some shady stuff and he's not in the picture but it's because he's taking care of you, you probably shouldn't be sleeping with someone else you have no idea about). It's all very shallow and I've lost interest. I may or may not pick up the 3rd volume (... morebut I stopped reading Beautiful Creatures for the same lack of closure throughout the novels and haven't cared) but if I do, it'll be from the library.
review 2: This book was not as good as the previous in the Trilogy. We do hear some interesting ideas about 'glamour'. Now traditionally, 'glamour' is allocated to 'bad' fairies who use it to disguise themselves, here Jane uses it to disguise herself - and very successfully too... I could only wish there was a spell that made me model thin and very tall....We also get some good hints on how to dress fashionably. I have now started book 3 as I do want to know how it all ends - if it does... less
