review 1: This is a very current book with its theme. Especially in the United Kingdom where there has been a lot of human traffic rings happening. The story is a sad one. Leigh has a style of writing about broken characters. Dex is one of them and he goes through a lot in this book. The reason why her books fall short for me is she doesn't grasp there are two characters here. Seb falls in the same staple as the other characters her book. The solid one. The one who takes care. If Leigh isn't careful she may turn into Lanyon with writing essentially the same characters with different book covers.Despite all that she has nice melodic touch to her writing. The story is well written at its core.
review 2: Garrett Leigh is an auto-buy for me, with very good reason. Ms Leigh wr
... moreites stories that break your heart, and then slowly puts you back together. Her traumatized and damaged men always end up finding a permanent place in my heart. Dex was a beautiful character, and I couldn't stop reading until he had his happy ending. Seb was the perfect partner for him. Love did not come easily for these two, but was very worth the wait. I know that I am being greedy, but I would love another book about this pair. I want to spend more time with them as Dex continues to heal and have the chance at a normal life. less
