review 1: We got this book in French. Apparently it's a translation, but the author is from Quebec, so I'm going to assume she did it herself which is basically the same as it being written in French.Anyways!I thought this looked like a good book to read to my daughter who is learning French in pre-school and starting at a French school in the fall, and I was right, HURRAH! The story is cute, and the pictures really help her connect the words to what is going on in the story. The writing is simple, but not simplistic. It's written as for children who already speak French but who are still learning concepts like big and small. So there's a lot of repetition of words, which is great for my daughter.Excellent choice, Holly!

... morenderstand why I wanted to see more of this book. Mr. King is adorable and his BIG castle is an It's a Small World piece of art. While I enjoyed the illustrations and the playful BIG versus small typography, I thought the story could've used 1-2 lines or pages (with more cute art) to emphasis the "uh oh" lesson on why we should not hog all of our natural resources. less
