review 1: Las tejedoras de destinos es uno de esos libro que PUDO haber sido la siguiente gran cosa. Sin embargo se queda en una "distopia" mas del monton. Lei este libro sin ninguna expectativa mas he de admitir que su bella portada ( muy niña) y la sinopsis me sedujeron. Tenia curiosisad por conocer el mundo de las tejedoras.Siento que hoy en día, en la literatura "juvenil" parece que a los autores les pagan por escribir "distopías" que no son "distopías", pero que contienen los elementos de otras distopías para hacerlos pasar por distopías... Y el problema tal vez es ese, ya que la abundancia contribuye al exceso, que no deriva en otra cosa que fastidio por un género. Aunque claro no puede decirse que toda distopía que salga al mercado, necesariamente tiene que ser mala,... more existen claros ejemplos como Puro o Partials, que aportan perspectivas interesantes de un futuro post apocalíptico. Gennifer Albin construye Arras, una sociedad un tanto extraña y de la cual no llegamos a conocer a fondo. Tenemos conocimiento de los telares, y de lo qué las Tejedoras pueden hacer con ellos, una breve y confusa explicación de cómo llegaron a tal punto de necesitarlos, pero hasta ahí no hay mayor conocimiento de la sociedad y de su gente, situación que me hizo más difícil comprender la historia. Respecto a la protagonista, la autora intenta hacer un personaje que caiga bien, pero termina fracasando en el intento. Pues Adelice es de esas que a pesar de no ser bruta te cae mal por el sólo hecho de ser Adelice. Como lo mencioné al principio, la trama me pareció bastante peculiar, interesante y con un gran potencial. Pero conforme vas avanzando, la historia decae y se torna demasiado lenta. La parte del romance nunca la llegue a entender, nunca pude sentir una verdadera conexión entre Erik-Adelice-Jost Alias "Señor multiusos" . Es como una Trio, mejor dicho, cuarteto amoroso, que de una pagina a otra ¡BOOM! aparece . Para nuestro deleite la trama no se basa en los lios amorosos, aunque tampoco llega a explicarlos del todo. Como dije, hubieron momentos en los que me aburría horrores y comenzaba a leer sin comprender lo que leía (cosa que casi nunca me sucede, pero con este libro sí), sólo para llegar al final y terminar con el martirio. Afortunadamente tiene un buen final, y es la mejor dosis de acción que vas a obtener en toda la historia. En conclusión, siento que le hizo falta más suspenso, golpes (?), sangre, acción, personajes mejores planteados, y un desarrollo mejor elaborado. Y me molesta que libros con historias originales se queden tan sólo en intentos fallidos, cuando tienen tanto potencial de por medio.
review 2: I ultimatley, hands-down loved this book! But, I am only rating this book 4/5 stars.The plot of this book is exceptionally good, and kept me so interested throughtout the whole book. From page one when Adelice is kind of describing what happens when Spinister Eligibles are collected to the end when stuff goes down! Let me start by talking about just a few of the characters : Adelice - She is a very hard-headed, strong, curious protagonist. The way she continues to butt into things after many times being thrown in the cells, is what really kept hold of my attention. Also, how much she risked towards the end of the book trying to find out more about what has happened to her sister, Amie, and her mother. Noone would tell her anything but she still kept trying.Cormac - Ugh, dont get me started. The way the author describes him, he'd be very revolting to meet in person. Between his constant hitting on the Spinisters, ecspecially Adelice, and his disgusting obsession with always having a drink, he's creepy as can be!Jost - Can you say attractive?? The way his appearance is written about makes him seem like one of the most beautiful men on earth. His personality seems even better though. He is so caring, sweet, and someone who I'm glad they did not rip during the book!Erik - Boy, oh boy! He is also very strong headed and after working so long under Maela, he's learned when it is correct to keep his mouth shut and when to talk. Erik also knows who to stay away from and who he kind of needs. Plus, he's another attractive one!The way that Albin wrote this story, was just beautiful. Her way of writing is spectacular. I can't even describe how much I loved just that. One thing that I really was not so caught up on in this book is the little love triangle between Adelice and two others. It's kind of annoying in my opinion. I think the book could have done perfectly fine without it!I really loved this book and I reccomend it to anyone who loves dystopian societies and also it has a paranormal/fantasy feel. But, no matter how much the Love Triangle may get on your nerves, keep reading because the rest of it is breathtaking! less
