review 1: Brilliantes Buch, und wenn ich nicht momentan mit dem lästigen Schichtdienst die Nächte und Tage aus dem Lot gebracht hätte, wäre "Songs of the Dying Earth" sicherlich innerhalb weniger Tage verschlungen worden. So war es ein verstohlenes Blättern in der Dämmerung, oder das Lesen einiger Seiten um Mitternacht... aber vielleicht auch ganz angemessen für Geschichten einer Sterbenden Erde, wo die Sonne jeden Tag zum letzten Mal aufgehen könnte...

There are so many great writers of today paying homage to Vance in this omnibus volume that it is a veritable who's who of modern fantasy and science fiction writers. If you have read the original stories this b... moreook pays homage to then it is a must read. If you haven't read the original stories then it still is a must read and no doubt will leave the reader looking for the original "Dying Earth Stories" of Jack Vance post haste. This is a great anthology paying homage to a great writer. Just read it. less
