review 1: The Stone of Fire is a good book. The good guy is Geronimo Stilonoot. He is also the ancient ancestor of Geronimo Stilton. There is a guy named Tiger Khan. He is the bad guy. He steals the Stone of Fire and Geronimo must get the stone back. A shaman comes to help and what happens to him is really funny.The different types of texts used in the story were pretty cool. There are also maps included which were helpful.The ending is fun. And that is all I want to say.
review 2: Okay, I would almost give this 4 so I guess technically it is 3 1/2 stars. This really surprises me because I have tried reading a couple of the Geronimo Stilton regular series, and was really annoyed by them. This is in the same format with various random words in strange colors and bizar... morere fonts. Somehow I got past that this time and actually enjoyed this one. Geronimo Stilton's ancestor, Geronimo Stiltonoot is a reporter for Mouse City's Stone Gazette. This is quite the undertaking as a copy of each issue is handcarved for every resident in the city. Geronimo is often in the wrong place at the wrong time and this leads to him getting involved in solving a mystery with his friend Hercule Poirat. They infiltrate Tiger Khan's camp only to find out the ferocious felines are planning an attack on their very own Mouse City. Will the rodents be able to fend off their invaders? Will Geronimo be able to return to the quiet life of newspaper making? (Actually, paper wasn't invented yet so I guess it was called newsstone making). This humorous adventure story will delight both boys and girls just beginning to read slightly longer chapter books, the intermediate crowd. less
