review 1: Thank you, thank you, GG Vandagriff! I was so very happy to read an historical novel that did not feature a slutty heroine! Authors can construct a story however they wish, but lets be truer to our time period. A truly engaging love story between a rake and an innocent. Peter is a true hero, who never expects his love to lower her standards of morality. There were several unsavory characters, a bit more than seems reasonable, but three former fiances? My only minor complaints were the two abominable men. One would have been plenty. If you want a fresh, sweet, but feisty heroine, this is a very fun read.
review 2: This was a fun little regency romance. I was a little surprised at the innuendo, especially toward the end, but it still stayed within the boundaries
... moreof clean. The Duke of Ruisdell is one of the biggest known rakes and is set to seduce Elise, who is scandalous in her own way because she's had so many fiancés. They quickly become engaged, in order to scare off some former fiancés, but an unexpected bond forms.Elise seems like a such a sweet girl, yet the middle two of her fiancés were absolutely crazy and I kept wondering how in the world she managed to get tangled up with them. Ruisdell, although a rake, is a great guy. I enjoyed them getting to know one another. A fun escape book. less
