review 1: This book has even less of a plot than the last one in this series did. Its a round of birthday parties, parental obligations, knitting, pregnancies, and hanging out with the same people as the last two books. That said, it's a comfort read. A small town, suitably eccentric locals, a slowly flourishing small business, children who are adorable even when they are being annoying....Having re-read these three books over the past couple of days, the thing that was most annoying was how utterly devoid of really anything the heroine's relationship with her main boyfriend, Martin, is. They never have adult conversations, nor is there any sexual tension whatsoever. She kissed him by mistake once and he blushed and stammered and thats about it. And you can see why, he is not an adu... morelt even at 38. His mother still does his laundry for him, and he is taking years to convert a barn into a home more as a slow hobby than with any urgency whatsoever, so if he were to sweep her off her feet, there would be nowhere to take her to, even for the evening. The other arm of the love triangle in this series is also a man-child. Definitely sexy, but irresponsible and self centered...a butterfly, not relationship material of any sort.Although I think the message of these books is that you can make do and be truly happy without a man, the heroine's only two choices of men are both untenable. It's no contest, life alone with the kids is better. I'm not saying life as a parent isn't worth livimg or that I think you must have a man...but surely a single woman after a few years would have some..erm, cravings? Not this one, not really.
review 2: Well...it was the third in the row, and I had the impression, that some things started to repeat. It did not really bother me, I was just getting "used" to some events and felt not the same enthusiasm I had with the two other books.Maybe it was not so "lightened up" like the other books, don`t know.Yet, it was a nice read and when I finished the book, I thouhgt "come on, there must be one more to finish the story, right?"So, when the author decides to write a following book, I`m gonna read it. less
