review 1: This semi-paranormal-esque genre isn't my usual taste, but Gina is a local author who helped out with our teen book fest so of course i had to pick it up. It was great! An interesting premise that flows into an interesting conflict, a super 'hateable' "villain" who comes across as shallow but has her own issues, a completely lovable romantic interest, and perfect for the junior high age group (but not so "young" it wouldn't be enjoyable for older teens). Great debut by a lovely lady!
review 2: I loved the way the author mixed science and religion to explain Anna’s ability, which was awesome. Rei was so adorable and my favorite character; I wish I could have gotten to know him a little better, maybe even had a few scenes in his point of view. I loved hating... more Taylor; she was the perfect bad guy. Every time I started to sympathize with her, she would do something else terrible and selfish. The only thing I had a real issue with was the trial. Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t have wanted the end result to be different, but how they got there seemed a little too simple. But overall, I really liked this book. less
