review 1: This is horror at its most gruesome. Considering that there is an immense amount of gore, the character development is surprisingly satisfactory. The writing is a bit iffy in places, and I found many of the twists predictable, but it was an enjoyable read. I am especially pleased with this book, because it's not the kind of story line I typically enjoy. The ending was good, as well--something not often accomplished in horror novels.
review 2: This book...wow, how do I review this book? It was like watching something grotesque play out but being unable to look away. The medical research that went into this book is nothing less than outstanding, which earned it an extra star. The premise itself is completely unsettling, and quite honestly, unlike ANYTHING I have ... moreever read before. It is a book that stays with you for a long time. It's not overly gory. The key word here is "disturbing"; mainly because there is plausibility as to a situation like this eventually happening. I'm sure some like it have happened already. I recommend it, but don't expect a happy book. Enter into this book knowing it will unsettle you, make you think, and at times, make you cringe. NOT for minors. less
