review 1: I'm a bit of crime fiction junkie but I often end up getting bored of those authors that keep churning out books about the same characters fighting the same crimes. The Sculptor was a breath of fresh air (well, stagnant corpse filled air really)... I really enjoyed it! The story was very original and I thought it had the right balance of the disturbing and the fluffy. There were some sections where the 'intuitive leaps' taken by the investigators were a little hard to follow, but all in all it was a great book. I learnt a lot about Michaelangelo's art too, which was an added bonus! I'd definitely recommend this if you're a crime drama obsessive like me!
review 2: Well...I did my best to keep reading this one as I do not give up easily, always trying to give a c
... morehance to the writer to tell his/her story. BUT the style of this one was simply terrible - superficial descriptions of the main characters and stupid dialogues, the story line was not something unique as well. I guess I was attracted by the art background in the story line and at some point I was hooked up and wanted to know who is that serial killer presenting his victims as Michelangelo's works. I got enough at the point when the serial killer was described to masturbate on the same table he kills his victims! That's ridicoulous! less

it was okay but there was far too much art history Michaelangelo stuff going on for my liking.
