review 1: I give 3.5 stars to this very quirky book of dark humor. And I loved the audiobook reader. He made what were already strange situations into something even more bizarre and humorous. Shakes Williams comes home to the farm to bury a cat and learns quickly that Dad can't be left alone. So he quits his job in Denver and moves back to small town Colorado. Through a series of misfortunes you grow to love Shakes and his Dad as they wonder through their life trying to pick up the pieces that a crooked banker and senility have robbed from them. Definitely worth a read.
review 2: Got a kick out of the sad situation a son, Shakespeare Williams, finds his dad in upon returning to the family home in Eastern Colorado from Denver. His pa is a genius at fixing things, but th
... moree loss of his wife made the old guy also lose his mind. Shakes is determined to help his pa only to find that a greedy banker has stolen everything. Kinda wild, but not really that unlikely. I became quite fond of these characters. less
