November 2017 Books Read

As expected, I didn’t finish any book in October and read only two books in November.  Reaching my goal for this year is so far yet I had no regrets. This has been a slow yet productive reading year for me. I’ve read a number of books on grief and loss and I think these books have helped me cope with my own grief of losing my father. I really miss him. On to these books:

Bill Bryson’s “Neither Here Nor There” is a book filled with travel mishaps from the author’s personal backpacking experience in Europe. There are funny and sarcastic accounts which is a different vibe from “A Walk In The Woods”.

“To Room Nineteen” by Doris Lessing is a short story I read because it was mentioned in a Korean drama I recently followed. It’s a story of a seemingly perfect couple until something happened in their relationship that prompted the wife to rent a room just to be with herself even for a few hours. Warning: This is not a light read.

For this month of December, I’m trying to finish some pending books at home and also avoiding myself from book hoarding. The holiday season is making it difficult to control myself but I just have to. Sigh, it’s been almost a year since my father’s death. I just want to sleep over through Christmas and New Year.
