review 1: Overall this was a parenting book I heard about on a parenting podcast and while giving the interview with the author I didnt want to punch him. typically that is my reaction to most people who claim they have an ideal parenting philosophy. I would give this closer to 3.5 stars. Some of the book wasn't applicable to my stage of parenting as it was written more for parents of teenagers, but for the most part these simple ideas for finding more connections with your kids were ones I could see myself implementing. and I didn't feel like some awful neglectful parent when I read this. So truly, a win for a parenting book.
review 2: Showed up on another list as a must read book for parents. We have this book in our library parenting collection. I just read it. Fir
... morest, for the busy parent there are too many words and not enough bubbles of information. If someone cannot figure out the most important job in the world is being a parent and the most important thing is to spend time - forget the circulation of this book. It was purchased this year and has yet to be taken out. I briefly checked other circulation statistics a other libraries - rarely does it circulate. Perhaps the Title is to imposing? Parents today may have regrets but not own them. Message overall is good. less
