review 1: I thought this book was okay. The authors are relationship therapists and at times this book felt like a commercial for their therapy workshops. There were two ideas I found most interesting in this book: 1) that most of your relationship conflicts stems from problems in childhood, even if you had a happy childhood and 2) most relationships consist of a "Turtle," or emotionally introverted person and a "Hailstorm," an emotionally extroverted person.After those revelations, I felt like the book was common sense communication skills. This would be a good read for couples who need from the ground up help with communication skills.

Maybe!I for one do NOT enjoy role playing or any such thing. So the exercises, no way jose.I understand that they do this for a living, so they know exactly what they are doing. But some of it is just too much for me! I don't like role playing and all the strange stuff. less
