review 1: I thought this book was okay. The authors are relationship therapists and at times this book felt like a commercial for their therapy workshops. There were two ideas I found most interesting in this book: 1) that most of your relationship conflicts stems from problems in childhood, even if you had a happy childhood and 2) most relationships consist of a "Turtle," or emotionally introverted person and a "Hailstorm," an emotionally extroverted person.After those revelations, I felt like the book was common sense communication skills. This would be a good read for couples who need from the ground up help with communication skills.

So the exercises, no way jose.I understand that they do this for a living, so they know exactly what they are doing. But some of it is just too much for me! I don't like role playing and all the strange stuff. less
