review 2: Even though I read the first 3 books in this series when I was younger it wasn't until quite recently I found out that this book exists and I've been so excitd to read it since then, and I'm so happy I have because I loved every single moment of this. I loved being back in the world of Ingo and to follow all the characters once again on a new journey. Another thing I really like about these books is that they're so much about the ocean (yes I know it's a mermaid book so that's kind of the point), but what I mean is that they're so aware of it. They're bringing up real life issues like pollution of the water, the killing of whales and dolphins caught in nets, and that's not something many other mermaid books do. These books are truly takes you on a journey through the oceans and teach you a lot about it, and that's partly why this is my favorite mermaid series. I didn't expect it to have such a bittersweet ending, it was sad but beautiful at the same time, and this was a perfect way to wrap this series up. Even though this is more of a middle grade series I'll read and love this for the rest of my life, and I will recommend it to anyone who's looking for a book about the ocean or mermaids! less

The stylistic change in the last chapter or two was a bit weird. 3.5 stars.
