review 1: I really enjoyed this book. It explores the kind of lives we could possibly have if certain ideologies are allowed to take hold and exert power over us. I can see them striving in our society today to grab power and subject the rest of us through fear thus enabling them to remove our freedoms. Yet the book is written in a bit of a light vein with humor throughout. It does have a sad ending, though.
review 2: Another wonderful book by Helen Smith. It's a bit darker than the other two, but just as good, if not better. Once again her sense of humor kept me chuckling throughout the book, even though the plot is about a futuristic England under some kind of martial law. Not something one would normally see as a humorous topic, but Helen's style and dialogue helped k... moreeep the mood a little lighter than it otherwise would have been. Again, I look forward to additional works, though I think I'll have to wait now instead of just buying another one immediately. less
