review 1: This was a bittesweet, but untimatly fufilling graphic novel about a vampire who wants to know what he truly looks like underneath the facade of his human face. He hires Lou to paint portraits of him and love ensues, but it is not without violence and drama. I really enjoyed it. I laughed, I crined and I felt my heart being ripped out, and untimatly I really want to pcik up the next book. It is definetly worth the read. Although I was hoping for more "adult" content.
review 2: Speaking of gay vampires…, I usually never buy yaoi but do review it for magazines. This I actually bought because the interior art was gorgeous. And it really is. Better yet, there’s a plot I know how unusual for yaoi… Lou, a young artist is hired on by the handsome Mr. Sein to do ... morehis portrait. Sein, however is never happy with the portraits but Lou is determined. During the course of this he learns three things a) his grandfather knew Sein b) Sein’s a vampire c) he’s in love with Sein. A rich, arrogant young man, Adam, exposes Sein’s nature and that Sein is contracted with him. Adam does propose a way for Lou to be with Sein but Lou is unsure if he can trust Adam. Sadly this leads Lou into the clutches of Sein’s enemy who nearly drains Sein of all his blood, leaving him to die. This is where we end. The story is good with a few weak areas but overall it was interesting. The art is lovely. Sein, however, isn’t always and I respect that in his true form he’s rather ugly. For the hard core action crowd well…there isn’t any yet (darn it). I’d be interested enough to get another volume less
