review 1: I have mixed feelings about the book. It was an emotional book, but I had a hard time connecting with the MC. It was like watching a train wreck waiting to happen while you are screaming at the MC 'can't you see the train is coming?!' I know that we are blinded to someone's fault, but can we so blinded we don't see who they truly are? And are women not only teenagers so immature to not be able.to face their problems and confront their partners? I understand as a teenager we feel insecure and awkward, but she was pregnant and she needed the support of her family and the father of her baby. I don't agree with the mentality that I don't need him and I can do it all by myself because the CHILD needs the father no matter what. Her boyfriend didn't seem like a douche bag, but s... morehe didn't confront him. I think that was a major mistake. Yes, Delaney was whispering in his ears, but at the end he needed to know about the pregnancy and the baby. I disliked her mom. She needed a slap. I hate people that hide behind their religion and that is what she was doing, not doing anything productive. I don't like how the end came to be. I think the mom repented somehow to go to the hospital everyday and I think a baby can do that. We all believe that baby makes everything better, but in many cases it doesn't. I didn't like how Rand avoided her because at the end she needed the support even as judgmental and hard headed her mom was, she was trying to be there for her. Running away was not going to solve the problem. I didn't like that she excused her boyfriend's behavior due to her ideals because he did messed up, he needed to make up for a lot of things. I agree not getting back together that's not the solution just because they had a baby. it's an easy read so I do recommend for a light read.
review 2: Tell me a secret was an okay book. It tells the story of a girl, Rand, who gets pregnant and then her boyfriend breaks up with her. She loses all her friends to the lies of Delaney her best friend turned enemy, and she fells like the only person she can turn to is her dead older sister Xanda. Rand is also trying to find out what happened the night of Xanda's death because her parents don't tell her anything about her death, and ends up getting the true story from her sister's boyfriend. I'd have to agree with Rand's friends, this book talks to much about Xanda, which I found boring. I also felt that Kamran's part never closed, and left me questioning what happened to him and if he had a relationship with his daughter. less
