review 1: Read if... You like to find out new things; you're interested in Japan or fashion or teen relationships; you like to learn new things; Gok Wan doesn't bother you.Don't read if... You're annoyed by teen romance.Did you know it sometimes rains diamonds on Jupiter? Or that one in twenty people have an extra rib?I didn't before this book.I thought, in all honesty, that Model Misfit was good enough. Not amazing. Not bad. The writing is actually a notch above the rest, and I borrowed this from my sister bored and expecting something rainbow-magic kind of rubbish, but I wasn't actually disappointed. In fact, as a 16 year old teenage boy - maybe not the target audience - I actually couldn't put this down and I finished it overnight (blush), so there. Maybe if I was a girl I would... more love it.The main reason I enjoyed this was because - Japan! The author used to live there so I think it was probably pretty accurately portrayed, and as -darn, I forgot the main characters name... as the geek explored the country, I felt like I was getting a tour myself and that's always a good thing. Good humour and cute characters and a kind of twist at the end.No complaints here apart from that it was sometimes a little mushy and romantic, but then again, I don't usually touch this kind of thing and that's probably why Twilight is so successful. But that's a review for another time. Thanks for reading!
