review 1: With a book barely over 200 pages, any discussion of the plot would be a spoiler. I will say that that I liked Mr. McEwan's attempt to dissect Fiona's legal mind-set, which elevated it slightly above the televised legal dramas you can find on any channel. I thought the marriage plot was a little too simplistic and shallow. I didn’t care for the ending. I found I was completely indifferent to their marriage issues & would have preferred to hear how Fiona would atone for her indifference.
