review 1: The Boy Who Met Jesus is an amazing true story of a boy who has apparitions from Jesus. It is told from the point of view of a young woman who grew up not far away from where the apparitions were happening, during the 1980s in Rwanda. There are so many great things about this book. It passes on a lot of the messages that the boy, Segatashya, heard and transcripts of his conversations with doctors and priests who interviewed him during this time. I believe that this book is very well researched and factual. It also has a very emotional side of it, because the author Immaculee interweaves her own story into that of Segatashya's. I would recommend The Boy Who Met Jesus to anyone who is religious and looking for an uplifting book about a true saint. Segatashya is an ins... morepiration in his faith, especially because he was a pagan farm boy who was converted by Jesus himself, and decided to follow Jesus and spread his message of love to the world.
review 2: The Boy Who Met Jesus by Immaulaee IlibagizaThe Boy Who Met Jesus is a very well written book almost first hand account of the life of a sweet kindhearted child named Segatashya. It is a book full of joy, faith, redemption and suffering. The boy Jesus selected to appear to was a pagan, illiterate, poor boy whose family did not possessed more than the minimum to sustain life. He had no formal schooling and when it was offered he opted to do things that would help his family live. This book restores the belief in a greater being who holds the universe in their hands. The book deals with us (all people) regardless of our religious beliefs or upbringing that we must change the manner in which we live and love. So much of what Segatashya shared is written in all religious doctrines. All of the holy, cherished doctrines employ people to live in love, respect and the goodness of a pure heart. I found it extremely interesting that the apparitions came to children who are not transfixed into the material trappings of the world. These children who were blessed to speak to the Virgin Mary and Jesus were extremely poor and have very little so therefore, they appreciated what they had. Perhaps the apparitions appeared to them because they have pure hearts and lack the evilness we often see in the world due to materialism. Jesus and Segatashya possess a heart that was open Segatashya had not yet learn to doubt things of a spiritual nature. Segatashya came from a town in Rwanda which suffered the horrific acts of genocide. Segatashya asked Jesus questions that were simply those of an inquisitive young child. In fact, Segatashya's question were exactly like those I would asked. I could easily relate to Segatashya since when I was a young child I remember conversations with God before people frightened me and told me that I would be struck down for playing with God and therefore stopped talking to God as my personal friend. Through Segatashya and Jesus' conversations the main focus was how to get the critical message across to the residents of Africa and the world to change their ways and clean up their acts so they would not perish. The words quoted by Segatashya were the same as those found in the Bible, Torah, Koran with almost in the exact phrasing. Repent for your sins, develop a pure heart like those of little children, love one another ask ask God and others for forgiveness. Have a pure heart like that of a child age five or younger. The Boy Who Met Jesus is a marvelous account of a boy from Rwanda. I found the book had a sweetness and a genuine powerful energy of love. I enjoyed reading it but I highly recommend listening to the book as well as reading it. Listening to the words seem to resonate with the heart more. I found that I was distracted with my thoughts about the events as I read. However when listening to the book I seem to be transported to the places Segatashya visited. The experiences Segatashya had were similar to those of Jesus as He grew up and spoke God's Words delivering the messages of salvation.2012 is within three hours for us on the East Coast. Recently, there has been many intellectual, spiritual discussions, books, movies and documentaries about what will happen in 2012. Many people are discussing Mayan culture writings about the occurrence we should expect during 2012. The book of Revelation and its symbolism is one of the most feared by some and refusal by others to accept the messages. Segatashya messages from Jesus were very simple and lacked complications. The challenge is that we have been focused on the distractions of this world and are not preparing for the future. Image how awesome it must have been for Segatashya knowing and experiencing first hand the truths that Jesus was asking him to convey to the masses. I also found it interesting that the message was given in Rwanda and could not help but wonder if more people in Africa had committed themselves to taking the messages of Jesus as Segatashya guided them to that maybe the horrific killings of the 1994 genocide would have been avoided.Hindsight is 20/20! The Boy Who Met Jesus is a powerful read and I recommend it to all people who believe in a life after leaving this planet. With access to so much information readily available to us there will be no excuses for not applying the simple requests of Jesus and the Virgin Mary. As the New Year approaches hours away we all make resolutions to do this or that; I will try to apply the message passed on through The Boy Who Met Jesus. The content found in this wonderful book is not new information but it is one I will share with my friends, family and associates and hopefully it will spread like a wildfire. Just adhering to the requests I will at least feel better and my heart will feel lighter, my mind and soul will lost some of the worrisome issues that really are not that important. Treating each other with kindness, love ourselves and treat our bodies as temples, share what you have with those who have so little, ask for forgiveness of those we have hurt.I highly recommend The Boy Who Met Jesus. less
