review 1: It really liked this story and can't wait to start book 2.Although it was kind of slow in the beginning, when the climax hits it's total action and suspense all the way.The way it ends leaves you wondering who to trust, who will survive, and will Ella be able to what she made to do?Ella has lost almost everything with the death of her parents. She struggles to go on and determine to live a quiet normal life, but as fate would have it,her life becomes far from quiet and normal. As she figures out how to elude The Dark Prince, she must also deduce who to trust, who has her best interest in mind, how to protect those she cares for,and what her heart really wants. There are some inconsistencies in the book.A few sentences repeated, actions repeated for example one minute the character i... mores getting up walking over to the other character and few sentences later he is doing the same thing when should already be in front of her,and it was Thanksgiving break which means it was the fall semester in college and she said it was the spring semester and he had until march to drop classes.
review 2: This story for me at first was slow going, but it picked up towards the end and I was completely engulfed in it that the slow start didn't bother me at all. What an interesting story! Such a unique concept and I love how it isn't something that you have really read before. My heart went out to Ella right away, lost both parents, being placed in a mental hospital, all because she is an ancient arc, and is having flash backs of her previous life, making everyone think she's losing her mind because of the loss of her parents, doesn't help these "visions" make her pass out cold. Under the care of her parents best friends, Ella is feeling guilty for them having to put up with her, and hates seeing what her parents death has done to all of them.Kale comes into her life at the perfect time, but he isn't a ray of sunshine. Kale is tormented by the loss of his love, but confused because he feels her in Ella. The interaction between these two characters is a bumpy ride, but well worth it. You can feel Kale's heart ache and anguish throughout this book, and it makes you as a reader fall in love with him as well as Ella.I love the authors twist on the vampire. The Chorý is an interesting twist on a creature that hs been used time and time again in stories!! I have to say though, when I was finished with this book, I'm very very happy I had the second one waiting for me! less

Very convoluted and slow to start plot. I didn't understand the story until chapter 4.
