review 1: My favorite book when i was growing up! I probably read 'Dog Lost' about 50 times! Maybe even 100! I love it! It will still be a favorite book of mine when I'm older - i'll keep it in the family! I have still have it - on my cabinet - so maybe i'll read it tonight. I love how Cash makes a great friend and learns to be a good dog - even when bad things happen to her, she's always willing to help and save those in need!
review 2: Spoilers: Ok, this is a difficult review to write. While I think Lee conveyed the dog and his boy's relationship beautifully I couldn't get through more than half the book. Maybe I'm just sensitive because I own two rescues (one is a pit bull), but when the dad kicks the dog and throws it in the trunk and dumps it in the forest, I couldn
... more't handle it. So I took a break from the book for a few days. Then when I tried to continue reading, I got to the part where those boys want to steal the dog to fight it for money I had to stop reading all together. I know it's a harsh reality but I'm not sure how appropriate this is for children if a 24 year old can't even get through it without having an emotional break down. I appreciate the effort by the author and respect the story but it's too intense for me. less
