review 1: This was another in Gladwell's line of pulp science books, in which he slickly and superficially covers some corner of science that's captured his interest recently. I really like Gladwell, and his books are a lot of fun. This one isn't quite up to the standards of Blink or Outliers, though that may be because I'm getting accustomed to his formula. His anecdotal approach to supporting his arguments makes for good narrative storytelling, but it's hard to really call it 'science'. Then again, if he was just citing studies and quoting statistics, it would be a hell of a lot less interesting to read. He manages to find a pretty happy medium in there somewhere, and even if I don't always agree with the conclusions he reaches, he always gives me something interesting to thi... morenk about. The premise in this book is that an underdog story is not always what it seems. Often, things we perceive as advantages can, in excess, be disadvantages, and vice versa. To support this, he goes to basketball, law enforcement, the bible, the Troubles in Ireland, education, Wall Street, and many other destinations.
review 2: The underdog not always appears to be weak and the strongest not always appears to be strong. This sentence can sum up the entire story that malcolm told us.There are three chapters of the bookFirst one is about the story of unconventional ways to beat the giant. Second one is about the U curve, when there is a limit through everything including effectiveness of a method. And the last is when the underdog set the ground. less
