review 1: I've read a few Love Finds You books now so far (maybe 8 or so). This was my least favorite of them. It is a modern-day tale about a woman named Kennedy who inherited a ranch in Nebraska after her parents both passed. She had lived in California for quite some time and wanted to connect with family, and avoid family that had caused problems in the past as well. While there, she meets Derek, a "cowhand" (manager of the ranch). Threats appear about the farm when she decides whether or not to sell it. This story was really slow for a long time and then it seemed to wrap up in your quick happy-ending tale. It was unrealistic and weird, though I did enjoy the story. It was just. . .not that great.
review 2: It was definitely a very fast read. I was able to ge... moret this done very quickly, and found it extremely hard to put down. Although I felt the Christianity beliefs really came out, I don't feel it took away from the story. It was nice to escape to a place I had never been as well, and even though the dialogue was a bit corny, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I think Ms. Brand really painted the picture of the ranch Kennedy was on beautifully, although I somewhat wish she expanded on the small town life a bit more. Derek's character was nicely written, but I do feel he was a bit feminine in his actions and not the typical "cowboy" picture that has been painted in most TV shows, movies and books. I'm considering reading other books in the "Love Finds You In..." series after reading this. less
