review 1: Interesting, but still rough and rather underdeveloped. I did like it, though it wasn't...visceral enough. This one lacked an edge of raw brutality, yet also wasn't quite completely cold and calculated. The prince cared, but there also seemed a subtle edge of indifference. Bao...his name is Bao. How can I possibly take that seriously? It wasn't really sexy between them. There wasn't enough tension, enough of that visceral edge that would have sucked us into the turmoil. We instead get told of some turmoil and see a fine pantomime of it.*sighso much unrealized potential...
review 2: 4.5I do like the story and the characters, but there was too much telling and not enough showing made it lack some deep. Also using character's name in every other sentences is quite
... moreannoying. To me the native, 1-word names and without honorific sounded kind of strange too. But I like that the story's set in the East but it's neither Chinese nor Japanese, makes it refreshing for a change. :) less
