review 1: Ivy Sinclair has hit a winner in this love-themed short story, just perfect for a quick dose of romance.Although there aren’t a ton of surprises in this story, characters are well developed despite the abbreviated length. Sinclair has crafted her characters to present themselves with a minimum of backstory, yet easy to understand and enjoy. Tossing in a touch of magic to the batter, Belle only crafts this family recipe once a year, for Valentine’s Day, and while she feels she has never quite met her potential, the possibilities are near endless. Yes, utterly sweet story with lots of options for the story to go, it is a feel-good fun and quick read. In the mood for something light and fun – this is the story for you. I purchased a copy of this eBook for my own per... moresonal library. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.
review 2: The story is all about Belle, who makes these spacial cupcakes called (you guessed it!) Cupid's Cupcakes, she only makes them for that one special day of the year, although her best friend has her go for an interview with Brian who wants to know more about the baker behind these special (and some say magical) treats. The story is pretty well worn, it's a good thing it is a short story because it was clear to see what would happen from a mile off. Belle comes across as a good, solid character, although we know rather little about Brian, aside from he has a bit of a crazy ex-girlfriend. It's a very basic story that is easy and quick to read through and yet that doesn't make it bad, the general story-line is well used by all romantic writers and yet there is a nice twist since it's all about these special cupcakes that seem to make people realise what they have with the special person in their life. The ending is a bit rushed, but that is probably the point, if the author kept on going she would have had all the stages of the relationship written out as well which obviously wasn't the plan. As far as a short story goes, it is rather good, the character's were nicely done and Belle got something to be proud of. The reader (depending on if they like this kind of romantic tale) is also left wanting more, but that can be done with the imagination. less
