review 1: Clark grounds you in the city and presents it as a gray, dying monolith. The story is simple enough but reveals the psyche of "old time" Chicagoans reaction to the grand city's recent descent into violence, poverty, and trauma. The landscape of Chicago is at once glitzy and gritty; a juxtaposition that is associated with most major cities but most alive in the Windy City. This book is stark, frightening, and introspective. Definitely worth a read.
review 2: For a genre novel, "Nobody's Angel" has a minimal plot, which is fine by me. As a cab driver myself, I have to say I'm thoroughly enjoying the view thru a Chicago cabbie's eyes.

A good tale well told. Wasn't sure what to expect, but everything turned out fine.

The Chicago cab driver lore is great, but the crime part is pretty thin.

A very cool ride through the streets of Chicago.
