review 1: This was a very interesting account of World War I from the perspective of the women who served as nurses and in other capacities to assist the Allied soldiers. It's certainly a unique perspective because I don't see a lot on World War I in historical fiction to begin with, and then to have it show the women, who, as the author notes, were forgotten by history until recently, was refreshingly different. It's a beautifully written account, and I especially found the historical info included at the end to be very interesting.
review 2: This book is a masterpiece, truely. Jackie French biggest novel is Hitler's daughter, but trurly I think it is this book. I never has emotions in books, i get dissapointed and annoyed and bored, I think in every book everyone does,
... more but in this book I almost cried. We are not allowed to get books anymore only on the kindle, but I will get this. If this movie ever turns into a movie, serious effort and delicately needs to put in (AND FOLLOW THE BOOK !!!!!) less
