review 1: Amalie escaped an awful engagement and now is pretending to be the governess for the Clan MacKennah. She unknowingly falls into the hands of Thayne MacGowan who is the rival of the MacKennah’s. They travel and get to know one another and unwittingly fall in love with each other. This is a great story about hardship, love, and what one will do to keep the ones they love alive. I love the time period for the story and the characters kept the story interesting and upbeat. This type of story makes you wish sometimes you were in that time period.
