review 1: I really enjoyed this book. It is very well written with some great characters. The issues experienced were realistic and you can relate to them. The love story between the main characters built slowly and was never vulgar like some romance novels. This was more than just a love story though. It was about changing life goals and dreams, coming of age, self-worth and acceptance, first love, artistic passion, and much more. Is it some great literary master-piece – no, but it is a great read.
review 2: This book was okay for what it was, but I'm not a huge romance fan, and something about it just rubbed me the wrong way. I'm not sure how old the author is, but I'm reasonably certain teenagers don't REALLY act like that... maybe I'm just still too close in
... moreage to teenagers to think of them as that stereotypical. Then again, I found the main character (who is much closer to me in age than any of the other characters) to be somewhat frumpy and old. Anyway, the storyline was enjoyable enough; I didn't hate it. less
