review 1: Yes, for the first time in about a year, I didn't finish the book my bookclub discussed for the month. Even if I can't make the meeting, I usually finish reading or listening to the book. Not this time. This is an excellent book and helped me gain a larger understanding of what it's like for soldiers in Afghanistan but it hit too close to home knowing my son is heading over that way again later this year.
review 2: Along with Sebastian Junger's 'War' this book details our soldiers' extraordinary bravery and our misguided attempts to apply our ideals to a faraway land and culture. It's a shame to see our young men's bravery abused on such a fruitless effort. And with the money spent on the lawless frontiers in such places we could make our own country so much b
