review 1: Often I am skeptical of first time authors, especially when it comes to children's books but this book is fantastic because it engages your child and effectively illustrates the different construction vehicles. You'll find a smooth sing-song, rhyming cadence in Dig Dogs Dig along with beautiful drawings and fun loving character.Amazon lists the recommended ages of this book as 4-8 but I can say with certainty that children of all ages, from 1 and up (maybe even younger) will enjoy this book.My two children love this book and, having had lived in Manhattan, our entire family is looking forward to reading the next book in the series Build, Dogs, Build: A Tall Tail!
review 2: I won this book in a goodreads giveaway.Very colorful book- so cool to have it signed by
... morethe author with a little picture he drew! My copy also came with some stickers, coloring pages, and word game. This book is amazing. Kids will love the rhyming, and they'll love yelling out things like "Dig, dogs, dig!". They'll also love all the great illustrations and the pictures of dump trucks, loaders, bulldozers, etc. The details and general "busyness" of the pictures will keep kids interested too. They will love that the dogs dig up a t-rex bone.I like how the book describes (in rhyme) what the different construction trucks do, and how it uses real construction terms like "4x4 sticks" and "flatbed," etc. I think boys especially will love this book, and I can't wait to read it to my own little one when he arrives soon! less

I am not a big fan of rhyming text but I did enjoy the very busy dogs.
